Supported Employment Services

Affirmative Ventures’ Employment Programs offer a range of supportive services designed to help individuals gain meaningful, sustainable employment. Through the 12-week Way-to-Work program, participants build essential job skills, while Tenancy 101 provides foundational knowledge for maintaining stable housing alongside employment. Affirmative Ventures also offers hands-on on-the-job training, job coaching, and job development to help participants secure suitable positions. Once employed, individuals receive ongoing job maintenance and support, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed and grow in their roles over the long term.

12-Week Way-to-Work Program

Join our supportive, 12-week program designed to strengthen your workplace skills. Each week, you’ll participate in interactive workshops and sessions focused on the essential skills needed for today’s job market. This program is ideal for building your confidence, enhancing your employability, and setting you up for success in a meaningful career.

Job Development & Coaching

Receive comprehensive support throughout your job search journey, including tailored training in resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and strategic networking. Our team actively collaborates with employment agencies and employers to uncover job opportunities and promote inclusive hiring practices. We provide personalized job matching and offer on-the-job coaching to ensure a successful transition into the workplace.

On-the-Job Employability Training

Gain hands-on experience with up to five shifts per week in one of our Affirmative Ventures social enterprises. This structured training lets you actively develop key employability skills, strengthen your work habits, and build confidence—all in a supportive, real-world setting.

Employment Maintenance and Support

In your first year, benefit from regular check-ins—starting with weekly, then bi-weekly, and finally monthly meetings—to help navigate any challenges on the job. We’re here to support you with issues like adapting to new tasks, working under a new manager, or transitioning to a new role. Beyond year one, you'll have annual check-ins to ensure continued success and address any new challenges that arise in your career journey.
